Brachial Artery
The brachial artery is important clinically for the following reasons:
- Because the brachial artery is relatively superficial, it is the most commonly injured blood vessel in the upper extremity.
- Possible causes of injury include penetrating trauma, animal bites, and humeral fractures.
- The brachial artery is compressed against the humerus when measuring blood pressure with a sphygmomanometer.
