Injury to the radial nerve results in a condition known as wrist-drop in which the hand lies in a flexed position at rest. This abnormality results from loss of function of the extensor muscles of the forearm due to loss of the radial nerve. Without extensors opposing them, the flexors of the forearm along with gravity pull the wrist into a flexed position at the wrist.
