Hepatocellular carcinoma in the
setting of hemachromatosis
- cells arranged in nests +/- bile plugs
- increased number of cells in a plate (usually one notices
a single-file row of hepatocytes - this becomes multiple cells with
hepatocellular carcinoma)
- nuclear atypia
- hemochromatosis - presence of hemosiderin granules within
hepatocytes
