How To Triage A Patient in Labor

Selective Project by Briana Jackson and Rachel Billstrom

Welcome to our tutorial page! If you are about to start your OB/GYN clerkship, or have already completed it and are helping us test out our labor and delivery triage module, you have come to the right place. The faculty of the OB/GYN clerkship would like to revise the third year curriculum so that Friday meetings can focus more on cases and questions rather than lectures. Our module could be the first of a series of online tutorials designed to review key concepts prior to Friday meetings. This material should also be helpful to prepare for the shelf exam, step 2 of boards, and especially for your clinical work. Since you only spend 1-2 weeks on each service during your clerkship, having a brief overview of material you are expected to know on the floor is essential to making the most of the time you have.

Please use Internet Explorer as the tutorial does not operate correctly on Google Chrome or Firefox. Thank you.

To complete the exercise in its entirety, you need to complete a 15 question pre test, proceed through the online tutorial and its built-in activities, and then complete a 15-question post-test to see how much you have learned. The questions in the post-test will be different from those in the pre-test but will cover the same learning objectives.

If your last name begins with A-M please take Test One as your pre-test and Test Two as your post test.

If your last name begins with N-Z please take Test Two as your pre-test and Test One as your post test.

The tutorial is completely anonymous and you will need to make an identifier so we can match your pre and post tests. You will type in your identifier in the box below. To make an identifier that you can remember for the post test please combine the first 3 letters of the city you were born in with the last 4 digits of your phone number then click the appropriate test number as explained above to proceed with the activity. You will then need to return to this page to access the tutorial. Once the tutorial is completed you will return to this home page and type in your previously created identifier in the box below and complete the remaining test.

We hope you find this activity fun and informative, good luck!!!
