A Computer-Based Tutorial on Involuntary Psychiatric Commitment
Kaitlin Sanzone, MS4
Welcome to my tutorial page! The purpose of my study is to assess whether completion of this computer-based tutorial improves medical students' knowledge on involuntary psychiatric commitment. The entire project consists of a fill-in-the-blank pre-tutorial questionnaire, followed by an online clinical case-based tutorial, and finishing with a fill-in-the-blank post-tutorial questionnaire.
The questionnaires and tutorial will not be timed. Once you complete the pre-tutorial questionnaire, you may complete the online clinical tutorial at your own pace, and then you may complete the post-tutorial questionnaire. If you decide to complete everything, it should take you around 30 minutes.
Please note that participation is voluntary and you may choose not to answer any question on the questionnaires for any reason. Your confidentiality will be protected and any data that you provide in the survey will be collected anonymously by the Questionmark server. Completion and return of the module with the pre and post questionnaires completed signifies your consent to participate in this study.
Please also note, your answers are anonymous and will not be used in grading for the third year psychiatric clerkship. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. My email is: email@example.com. The principal investigator for this project is Dr. Catherine Lewis (email: firstname.lastname@example.org, phone number: 860-679-8917).
Please use Internet Explorer as the tutorial does not operate correctly on Google Chrome or Firefox. Thank you.
Please complete the pre-tutorial questionnaire first. You may then proceed through the online case-based tutorial, and upon completion, close the window to return to this page. You may then complete the post-tutorial questionnaire.
Please create a unique code that includes the first 3 letters of your street name plus the last 3 letters of your favorite animal to allow the pre-tutorial questionnaire to be linked to the post-tutorial questionnaire answers for statistical analysis. For example, if your street name is "Talcott" and your favorite animal is "Monkey", your code would be "Talkey". By creating this code, the tests will not be linked to you as an individual. Please do not type any identifiable information in the space below.
