South Park Inn Medical Clinic

Board of Directors

The free medical clinic at the South Park Inn homeless shelter is completely student run. The Board of Directors, a group of elected medical students, meets monthly to discuss the clinic and see that it runs efficiently. In addition to day-to-day operations, the Board is always working on new and exciting ideas. Although each board member has specified duties, creative projects are always welcome.

Below is a table of the positions that students may run for and hold on the Board of Directors. Elections are held in March or April each year. First year students may run for MSII positions, second year students for MSIII positions, and third year students for MSIV positions. Some positions are held by a single student while others have more than one. In addition to any duties specific to a board position, all board members are trained in clinic operations and expected to run the clinic themselves on any night they are scheduled. The manager duties for a night at the clinic include calling other scheduled medical students and the physician, opening the clinic, seeing that appropriate documentation is completed, and closing down the clinic at the end of the night.
