Lesson Plans

We currently have lesson plans for 12 health topics that are directed towards the needs of the homeless community. Each lesson plan provides significant background information for the presenter, as well as a general outline of the presentation. We have also included local resources, handouts, photos, and other revelant materials for each talk.

In addition to the above health topics, we hope to expand our lesson plan and resources database for a variety of other health issues. Based on the reported findings of a recent DPH-funded study on Connecticut's homeless population*, we hope to develop the following topics to expand the curriculum:

  • Alcohol Abuse and Rehabilitation
  • Chronic Back Pain
  • Headache
  • Chronic Allergies and Sinusitis
  • Vision and Eye disease
  • Dental Health
  • Physical Disability
  • Asthma
  • Arthritis
  • Nutrition
